HBGijs, groeten !! 't Ziet er goed uit.

If I were Mr Antonov, I would want:-

Possibly a "holding company", Antonov PLC to be the owner of other Antonov subsiduary companies, if they were not independent. [Even if they were autonomous, it may be simpler in the long run to have a common ownership, ie a parent company, to allow cross funding of projects rather than have to rely on sceptical banks, shareholder dilution, etc.]

An automotive company (subsiduary or subsiduaries if holding company) responsible for engine and gearbox developments, eg Antonov Automotive Technologies BV.

A pharmaceutical company (subsiduary?) for the medical work.

A car company to build the Antonov car.

(But would it stop there? Certainly not!
How would you feel if you were Mr Antonov and the first car company to bring an Antonov gearbox to market were Honda. Delited to be sure, but also a little upset that Honda beat the Antonov car company to market? Surely understandable!)

For the first commercial Antonov transmissions to be available in the Antonov car.

For the first commercial Antonov engines to be available in the Antonov car.

    -------------------

I guess it is all a question of ambition and what is actually in the realms of possibility.

Is it possible that even the believers are underestimating Mr Antonov?

Although my understanding of Dutch is poor, I detect hints of negativity surrounding any Antonov PLC involvement in the Antonov car. I feel nothing could be better than for Antonov PLC to be involved in both the car and engine projects. If Antonov PLC could become the holding company described above there could be a much brighter future than "the mere gearbox believers" could anticipate.

I base the above solely on what I would personally want. If Antonov could get hold of the car project and become first to market with transmission and engine, it would increase Antonov PLCs credibility enormously in the long term.

The Antonov car is a collectors piece before it has even hit the market. And yet we have people questioning its profitability!

(It would be in Antonov PLC's long term interests to own it and run it at a loss rather than not have it. But that is another issue and should really be stated here!) As for can a company be set up with a mere €500,000? That rather depends on how much work is subcontracted out. If Sitma built the transmissions, somebody else the engines, etc and the company was a handmade "screwdriver factory", ie just bolting bits together, it could well be enough. There are even virtual companies where almost everything is subcontracted out. It really depends on trust: if companies are prepared to tool-up, manufacture, deliver and be paid later.

I once paid £5 for an album (plastic record). The guy simply collected £5 off people that wanted a copy and when he had £2000, he paid his own recording and printing costs to get the record made and posted the records out himself to the people that had asked for copies. So you can get into business for nothing if the trust is there.

    Nu even over je posting:

"Last autumn the luxurious retro car won the acclaim of the public and specialists at the Paris auto show."

Maar gaan ze hem dan ook kopen?

"According to Antonov, he already has had offers from potential buyers, including one from Bulgaria."

According to Antonov, dus daar heb je geen bevestiging van, je zult hem sua op z'n woord moeten geloven. Gevaarlijke beleggingsstrategie lijkt me.

Gemiste kans.
