    Hetzelfde gevoel bij Shell. Ook niet vooruit te branden ondanks alle mooie uitspraken dit weekend van verdere verlenging vd beperking van productie. Olieprijs up, Shell nu zelfs down.

    Baltic index falls for sixth straight session on weaker panamax rates

    May 22 (Reuters) - The Baltic Exchange's main sea freight index fell slightly on Monday, as sliding panamax rates offset gains in capesize earnings.

    The Baltic index, which tracks rates for ships carrying dry bulk commodities, was down for the sixth straight session.

    The overall index, which factors in rates for capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize shipping vessels, was down 2 points, or 0.21 percent, at 954 points - its lowest since early March.

    The panamax index slipped for the eight straight session, down 16 points, or 1.84 percent, to 854 points.

    Average daily earnings for panamaxes, which usually carry coal or grain cargoes of about 60,000 to 70,000 tonnes, decreased $128 to $6,872, fell to its lowest since early January.

    The capesize index , however, gained 36 points, or 2.16 percent, to 1,704 points.

    "Capesize dry bulkers have carried some positive momentum into the start of the week as fresh activity in the Pacific markets continues to firm global earnings," Clarksons Platou Securities analysts said in a note.

    Average daily earnings for capesizes, which typically transport 150,000-tonne cargoes such as iron ore and coal, were up $219 at $12,458.

    Among smaller vessels, the supramax index was down 6 points at 753 points, and the handysize index also fell 6 points to 496 points.

According to the Metals Service Center Institute, at current shipping rates, the service center steel inventory represents 2.3 months’ worth of supply.

    De koersweergave in de grafiek (op 1 dag zetten en dan met de cursor het uiteinde vd lijn in de grafiek raken) heb ik nu in USD gezien (en dat hoort), in Euros, in zwitserse franken en in procenten.

    Hoe verzint die Mark O'Hara het? Zou die de Q1 toelichting van Arcelor Mittal gelezen hebben?

    Als je link opent en je zet de grafiek op 1D (1 Dag), en daarna ga je met je cursor naar het uiteinde vd lijn dan zie enkele gegevens verschijnen in een klein kadertje.

    O.a. de USD koers. Echter ik heb geconstateerd dat in dat kadertje dus nu inmiddels 4 verschillende koersen hebben gestaan. That's all. Mogelijk niets serieus en alleen wat grafische misstanden maar mogelijk ook soortgelijke RS problemen in de USA dan welke wij vorige week al hadden.

    Bv bij de Rabobank waren er de dag voor de RS tijdenlang geen bied en laatkoersen, en op de dag vd RS kon er tot 10:50 uur niet gekocht worden (kon wel verkocht worden).

    SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), May 18 (SeeNews) - Steel maker ArcelorMittal said on Thursday its offer for the purchase of a state-owned stake in Bosnian iron ore mining company RZR Ljubija is the only viable option and would ensure the long-term stability of mining industry in the Prijedor area.

    The company told SeeNews in an e-mailed statement it welcomes the decision brought on Wednesday by the parliament of Bosnia's Serb Republic not to sell RZR Ljubija to Israeli Investment Group.

    "With ArcelorMittal as the owner of Ljubija, and its world-class expertise in the field of management, the future of the mining and steel industries in Bosnia and Herzegovina is fully secured", the company said. "The parliament's decision has also preserved the jobs of 3,150 people in ArcelorMittal Prijedor and ArcelorMittal Zenica, as well as thousands of indirect jobs held by subcontractors".

    A total of 34 of the 80 MPs present in the Serb Republic's National Assembly voted on Wednesday not to sell the government's 65% stake in RZR Ljubija to Israeli Investment Group, while 8 abstained. ArcelorMittal had earlier threatened it would seek international arbitration if the sale goes ahead.

    According to ArcelorMittal, if the mine is sold to the Israeli investor, all of its employees in Bosnia will be faced with negative consequences as iron ore supplies may become too costly.

    In April, the Serb Republic announced it has accepted an offer from the Israeli Investment Group for the purchase of a government stake in RZR Ljubija for 92 million marka ($49.9 million/47 million euro). The other bidder in the race was ArcelorMittal Prijedor - a joint venture of ArcelorMittal and RZR Ljubija - which had offered 63.6 million marka for the stake.

    ArcelorMittal owns a steel plant in Zenica, in central Bosnia, where it processes iron ore from the Prijedor-based mine.

    Prijedor is based in the Serb Republic, one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia. The other one is the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
