Income from Operations and Net Income Excluding Stock-Based Compensation Expense and Debt Discounts on DetachedWarrants Issued with Convertible Promissory Note. For the years ended December 31, 2009 and 2008, our income from operations was $6,125,050 and $10,458,759 respectively, and our net income was $7,568,719 and $10,575,285, respectively, which includes the effects of stock-based compensation expense for stock options, and the effects of interest expense arising from the accretion of discount on convertible notes. Excluding the income statement effects of stock-based compensation expense and interest expense arising from the accretion of discount on convertible notes, our non-GAAP income from operations would have been $8,510,550 in 2009 and $10,458,759 in 2008 and our non-GAAP net income would have been $9,954,219 in 2009 and $10,626,158 in 2008.

Het is een beetje stil rond dit aandeeltje, terwijl het voldoende perspectief biedt voor de toekomst. Vandaag het volgende bericht:

LOS ANGELES, BERLIN and HONG KONG, May 10, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Artificial Life, Inc., (OTCBB:ALIF - News), (http://www.artificial-life.com), today revealed its current iPhone title sales, download numbers and key ranking statistics.

The Company announced that as of April 30th, 2010, it has produced and released 29 games for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. So far, the top title was downloaded close to 2.8 million times, the second most over 2.3 million times and the third most over 1.7 million times. The average number of downloads per game was about 0.42 million. Paid iPhone games were sold at between USD 0.99 to USD 4.99 with an average price per game of USD 2.49.

The total number of iPhone game downloads generated as of the end of April 2010 was approximately 4.4 million in total compared to approximately 8 million for the whole year of 2009.

The Company had already announced earlier this year the release of three new iPhone games on the Apple App Store: Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion! -- the first ever massive multiplayer iPhone game featuring the rock band Linkin Park; Red Bull Racing Challenge and Spartacus: Blood and Sand -- the official game for the TV series from Starz Digital Media.

The Company's latest release, the Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion! game was particularly successful and has hit the #1 rank for music games for iPhone and iPad in a total of 22 countries, achieved a Top 5 ranking in 38 countries and Top 10 ranking in 47 countries since its release. In the Adventure Game category it reached Top 5 rankings in 16 and Top 10 rankings in 21 countries. The game also achieved a Top 50 overall games ranking in 18 countries and Top Gross 50 record in 15 countries respectively.

Among the produced games, 21 are based on licensed and branded intellectual property from a variety of licensors while 8 games are based on Artificial Life's proprietary IP. The games have been sold in a total of 84 countries worldwide. The distribution of game downloads by regions is: 52% in North America, 32% in Europe and Africa, 11% in Asia Pacific, 3% in Latin America and 2% in the Middle East. The Top 5 countries in terms of number of downloads for our products are: United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France and Germany (with 47%, 10%, 6%, 5% and 5% of downloads respectively).

As of April 30th, 2010, all the new games released have achieved Top 100 or higher download rankings in their categories.

"2010 has started very well for our iPhone and iPad business. We again achieved many #1 rankings for our products all around the globe. This speaks for the quality of our games. And just in the first 4 months of the year we have already generated over 50% of the downloads we generated in the full fiscal year 2009. We will continue to produce high quality games and business apps for the iPhone and iPad throughout the remainder of the year," said Eberhard Schoneburg, CEO of Artificial Life, Inc.

The total number of iPhone/iPod and iPad downloads generated since 2009 now exceeds 18 million.

The Company, as of September 30th, 2010, has produced and released 35 games for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Artificial Life's games have reached #1 on Apple App Store Top Charts in over 70 countries worldwide.

The Company has also penetrated the iPad market with great success in the first nine months of the year. For instance, since the launch of Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion! iPad Edition five months ago, the game has firmly remained in U.S. Top 20 Paid Music Apps in many countries around the world. Other iPad games have also continued to secure their places in the Top 50 charts even after months of their releases. GluCoMo(TM), the first newly launched healthcare iPhone application for monitoring and coaching diabetic patients, has also received positive results with the achievement of being in the U.S. Top 50 Healthcare & Fitness Apps.

Among the 35 produced games, 25 are based on licensed and branded intellectual property from a variety of licensors while 10 games are based on Artificial Life's proprietary IP. The games have been sold in a total of 89 countries worldwide. The distribution of game downloads by region is: 47% in North America, 33% in Europe and Africa, 15% in Asia Pacific, 3% in Latin America and 2% in the Middle East. The quality of the games has been the contributing factor to the success. We will continue to produce high quality games and business applications for the iPhone and iPad throughout the last quarter of the year," said Eberhard Schoneburg, CEO of Artificial Life, Inc.

OTCBB Stock Watch – Artificial Life posts Record Quarter with Anticipation of Better Valuation

Artificial Life Inc. (OTCBB: ALIF) shares have held a strong performance over the last month following the strong download numbers and key ranking statistics concerning its iPhone/iPod and iPad title sales. In addition, on November 12, the company reported strong increases in revenues and profits for the third quarter of 2010, which could trigger a strong price appreciation going forward. Artificial Life was traded in the range of $1.15 at November 12.

Artificial Life engages in the development, marketing, distribution and sale of software applications and technologies for wireless telecommunications devices and mobile phones. The company offers mobile games primarily for broadband networks and mobile phones. Artificial Life also provides mobile software packages, including MoPA-TV, a mobile controlled interactive for television shows and formats; Mobile Diab and Mobile Property, used for mobile business applications; Mobile Booster, a mobile technology and productivity tool; and SmartEngine Mobile Platform, a mobile technology platform for 2G and 3G phones, and mobile devices.

The release of the carrier grade m-commerce platform, OPUS-M, in the first quarter of 2010 has contributed decisively to the strong revenue and earnings growth in the second quarter and the third quarter of 2010. Revenues for the third quarter of 2010 increased 21% to $10.6 million, as compared to $8.7 million in the third quarter of 2009, due to revenue recognized from global license deals for its m-commerce platform, OPUS-M™, as well as license income from the sales of its Mobile Diab® product.

The record quarter in terms of revenues turned into a record third quarter 2010 in terms of net profits, which grew 29% to $5.1 million, as compared to net income of $3.9 million for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009. The diluted EPS for the third quarter of 2010 stood at $0.08, representing the same level as in Q3 2009.

Beside the success of OPUS-M™, Artificial Life reported strong demand for its iPhone and iPad portfolio of games. The total number of iPhone/iPad game downloads generated in 2010 through October 31, 2010, was approximately 12 million compared to approximately 8 million for the entire fiscal year of 2009. As a result, the total number of iPhone downloads approached 20 million.

Moreover, the strong growth and demand for the iPhone products encouraged Artificial Life to develop more iPhone/iPad games titles, to focus on the Android platform as well and rollout its offering internationally. The company is also targeting to leverage its m-commerce Opus- M™ platform to develop new engaging and innovative social network games and business products, the first being scheduled for commercial launch in the first quarter of 2011.

Over the short term the company’s valuation is still dogged by a significant and increasing accounts receivable balance. As of September 30, Artificial Life accounts receivables stood at $31.2 million, compared to $22.1 million at June 30 and $18.8 million at March 31.

Artificial Life Launches New Investment Entity and Announces First Investments

Company intends to acquire equity stakes in several promising start-ups and joint ventures during 2011

HONG KONG and LOS ANGELES, Jan. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Artificial Life, Inc., (OTC Bulletin Board: ALIF), (http://www.artificial-life.com), today announced the launch of a new investment entity and its first two investments.

Artificial Life, Inc. (ALIF) has launched Artificial Life Investments Ltd., a new, wholly owned Cayman Islands subsidiary that will serve as a dedicated investment vehicle of the Artificial Life group.

In late December 2010, Artificial Life Investments Ltd. already made its first two investments, acquiring equity stakes of approximately 19% and 16%, respectively, in ARE Augmented Reality Europe GmbH ("ARE"), a Berlin-based technology start-up, and M-Health Middle East Ltd. ("M-Health"), a Cayman Islands joint venture that is expected to establish its headquarters in Dubai and begin operations in early 2011.

ARE is engaged in the global purchase, license and sale of license rights and patents to special augmented reality technology for mobile applications. Artificial Life Investments Ltd. acquired its equity interest in ARE for approximately $695,000 USD.

M-Health is a newly formed joint venture between Artificial Life and two of its long-term clients and business partners, each with substantial experience and know how relating to doing business in the Middle East. The venture will focus on mobile telemedicine technology sales and distribution in the Middle East. The parties anticipate that M-Health will serve as Artificial Life's distributor and sales agent in the Middle East in the telemedicine field, including actively selling and supporting Artificial Life's Mobil Diab® technology and its mobile diabetes monitoring app GluCoMo™. Artificial Life Investments Ltd. purchased its investment in M-Health by contributing accounts receivable in the aggregate amount of approximately $9.6 million USD. Two other wholly-owned subsidiaries of Artificial Life, Inc. simultaneously acquired, in the aggregate, approximately 3.9% of the equity of M-Health in exchange for accounts receivable worth approximately $2.3 million USD.

Artificial Life Investments Ltd. intends to make additional investments in 2011, acquiring equity stakes in companies that the Artificial Life group considers to be a valuable extension of its core business. The investment focus will be on certain mobile technologies such as augmented reality and optical recognition technologies, telemedicine, social networking and general business apps for mobile devices based on iPhone/iPad and Android operating systems.

Artificial Life Investments Ltd.'s flexible investment strategy, in which equity investments are preferably wholly or partially acquired in exchange for non-cash assets, is designed to take advantage of the current demand for Artificial Life's proprietary technologies. These non-cash assets may include non-exclusive technology licenses, accounts receivable, or stock of Artificial Life, Inc

"The launch of our new investment entity and the completion of its first investments are major milestones in our expansion strategy for 2011 and the coming years. Artificial Life has experienced rapid organic growth over the past couple of years. The Company has now reached a size and maturity where the logical next step is to engage more in M&A activities and to expand further by making selective equity investments in promising start-ups and joint ventures. This is possible in part because of the high demand for our technology, which allows us, for example, to leverage licensing rights in our proprietary technologies for equity in new and promising start-ups or joint ventures. Our new equity investments will give us the opportunity to grow in terms of both increased revenue volumes and new geographical markets," said Eberhard Schoneburg, CEO of Artificial Life, Inc.

Artificial Life welcomes investment proposals in its core business fields. Please contact us at ir@artificial-life.com.
