Real estate deal in principle in port

Saab's sales of the properties will actually be in port and be able to give the company money by early next week. It said sources familiar with the process.

Saab's sales of properties have been delayed, but the recent announcement to TTELA is that the deal will be completed, although it is still legal formalities that could be accomplished over the weekend. A reservation in this context is, however, that the date when you thought the transaction would be in port all the time postponed. The money - it can involve up to 300 million Kronor to Saab's cash - will more than cover the salary costs. This would Saab could eliminate the immediate threat of bankruptcy but still find itself in a continuing very difficult position.

    Midsummer Night's Nightmare

    Published Today 00:05

The loss of wages is another blow to Saab Automobile's employees. Management and Victor Muller has not taken responsibility.

As if the news was not enough time is one of the worst.

Saab's employees are not only cheated on their wages. It also takes place at midsummer, just before the holiday. And thus sounds echo from an earlier blow to the tormented staff: On 18 December 2009, six days before Christmas Eve, General Motors decided to close Saab Automobile.

What takes place in Trollhättan is increasingly sadder to follow. Salaries tend to be the last thing that a wrecked provider companies stop paying. The analysts are deeply skeptical about the future of the company, the union IF Metall is prepared to put his employer in bankruptcy, the subcontractors may still be no money and the plant is stationary.

A Timbro report showed this week that most Swedes have no financial buffers in the form of personal savings and are forced to live from pay to pay. In the media testify Saab employees now about this, wages fail but not the bills, a single non-monthly payment could shatter the entire family economy.

And at the top are Victor Muller. He sits there not because he was the best option for Saab Automobile, but the only one. So far, his greatest contribution to their employees consisted of repeated promises that intensive work is underway to find new stones to turn on.

As the Dutch journalist Robert van der Oever put it to the Dagens Industri at Spyker's meeting in May: "There is a pattern that repeats itself. Victor Muller promise things then not turn out to happen. "

Muller's information strategy has not improved at Saab Automobile's reputation. Nor has it benefited the staff - quite the contrary. Slips have been either nonexistent or conflicting. They have brought new hope, which is then mercilessly extinguished. This time the staff got the news about the loss of salary in June either in emails or in the media. According to Saab's information managers Gunilla Gustav did not know it until late Wednesday night that the Treasury was too empty to cover salaries. First on Tuesday held an information meeting with the employees. And what are the concrete slips now? Well, that intensive work is ongoing and more stones should be reversed.

But still there are people who believe in Muller. Christer Palm, president of the subcontracting organization, Automotive Suppliers, told the DI that he hopes to Muller's "magic pencil" and "rabbit out of hat" as a possible way out.

Supernatural solutions to problems - are Saab Automobile a car or a sect? The question is whether it is possible for a firm to sink deeper than the outside world begins to refer to magic as the only salvation.

Victor Muller testified ability to charm his environment has also worked at senior level. Joran Hagglund, former Secretary to Maud Olofsson and negotiators on the Saab, believed still in April on the Dutchman: "I can only see it from outside, but my experience is that Muller does not give himself until he solved it," he said when the DI. However, it is nice to see how Ms Olofsson kept a cool head during yesterday's press conference, when she stressed that it is still Saab Automobile and Victor Muller themselves responsible to their employees.

The government has not had an easy seat. If it took his hand from Saab was criticism, not least from the opposition has been relentless, on the promised generous assistance was tax money has been in great danger.

The government has chosen a reasonable way, to refrain from extravagant promises and instead give Muller a position to keep his.

But the question now is whether the government, analysts and the media still have been too naive in their view of Victor Muller. There is much spoken against him to succeed. Saab Automobile has not made ??a profit in years, old car companies with famous brands are the wrecks along the highway, Muller has a long history of bad business, Chinese people coming and going of Trollhättan and the only ones who really seem to think the Saab is Muller and his friend Vladimir Antonov. Perhaps driven vision of Victor Muller of wishful thinking. Saab is a Swedish industrial history. But should the worst happen and the company goes under you have to sadly conclude that it does so in a way that is very typical, with an enthusiastic capitalist in tailored suits, surrounded by Russian and Chinese businessmen.

A typical movie cliche is that a desperate group of people skeptical about turning against the solitary hero and asks the question "How do we know we can trust you?"

The answer is always the same: "You have no choice."

But an election is always. We can turn our backs on the alleged savior and face the truth.

En voor de positivo's vanaf Saabsunited:

Seriously folks, the game isn’t even remotely close to being over. As Swade said on his blog, he (and I’m sure many others) isn’t throwing in the towel anytime soon. Victor Muller as reported is in the US tonight trying to iron out a quick solution. Both of the links covered here were reported in comments earlier, but for anyone not patient enough to wade through them, I’m putting them up on the main page.

According to Swedish Radio who got in touch with CIO Eric Geers, this whole situation boils down to putting too much faith in the deal with Hemfosa coming through in time.

“We still had the feeling that we could come into port with a business, we tried to get out of the payment on time but now was not the case,” he says.
He adds that Victor Muller is in fact meeting with GM among other companies, and wouldn’t speculate on a timeframe to complete a deal. Obviously Victor knows what timeframe he’s operating with. We’ve heard of short term, medium term, and long term financing– this is very very short term.
Speaking of Hemfosa, TTela reports now that the remaining legal loopholes will continue to be tied up over the weekend, but that with several postponements already there’s no set time frame for the property sale to be completed.

Pang Da of China Says It’s on Track to Buy a Stake in Saab Owner
    By Bloomberg News - Jun 24, 2011 7:17 AM GMT+0200

Pang Da Automobile Trade Co. said it is on schedule to buy a stake in Swedish Automobile NV, the owner of Saab Automobile, after the carmaker halted production because of a lack of funds.

“There’s no change to our previous plan,” Wang Yin, board secretary of Pang Da, said in a phone interview. “Saab is having temporary financial difficulties and the problem isn’t fundamental.”

Pang Da, based in the northern Chinese city of Tangshan, has paid 45 million euros ($64 million) for Saab cars and plans to invest 109 million euros for a 24 percent stake in Zeewolde, Netherlands-based Swedish Automobile, which was previously known as Spyker Cars NV.

Saab first halted production in April amid a payment dispute with suppliers. It restarted vehicle assembly on May 27 after getting a cash advance from Pang Da, only to put the brakes on manufacturing again on June 8. Saab, which General Motors Co. sold in February 2010 to Spyker, ran into a cash shortage after missing sales targets.

Saab and Swedish Automobile are in talks with various parties to raise cash, the company said yesterday in a statement. The options include the sale and lease-back of the factory in Trollhaettan, Sweden.
    Not Promising

“The Saab deal isn’t seen as a promising one by industry observers given the potential risks,” Fang Ju, an analyst with China Minzu Securities Co. in Beijing. “There’s little chance for the deal to be approved by Chinese government given the crowded status of local auto manufacturing.”

Pang Da, which raised 6.3 billion yuan ($973 million) in April in an initial public offering in Shanghai, sells 20 car brands including vehicles from Toyota Motor Corp. and Volkswagen AG (VOW)’s Audi division.

Swedish Automobile agreed on June 13 to sell a 29.9 percent stake to Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile Co. Ten telephone calls to Gao Ling, a spokeswoman for Zhejiang Youngman, asking for comment weren’t returned.

Pang Da’s shares gained 1.1 percent to 29.62 yuan at the 11:30 a.m. break in Shanghai trading, compared with the 1.6 percent advance in the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index.

The union demands for government: Let the Antonov

No wages for Saab employees. Now requires IF Metall that the government works to the Russian businessman Vladimir Antonov let in from the cold. - What is it that makes the Antonov can not get in, asks Stefan Loven, president, according to Echo.

Thursday's announced that there will be no salary payments came as a punch in the face of the employees at Saab. The mood was somber in Trollhättan and now fights the unions to save its members' jobs. From IF Metall's hold on to the government to work for the Russian businessman Vladimir Antonov admitted that investors in the Saab. Among other things, calls to the government to try to influence the European Investment Bank to change the perception of Antonov and accept him. - What is it that makes Antonov not enter.
