TNT wins two-year multi-million-pound RS Components deal

    TNT Express has won a two-year multi-million-pound distribution contract with maintenance parts firm RS Components.

    The parcel giant will manage deliveries from the UK to France, and domestic deliveries within Italy, as part of the deal.

    TNT Express UK and Ireland will collect from a 500,000-strong range of products from RS Component's Nuneaton warehouse, and deliver internationally. Goods range from semiconductors to power tools and protective clothing.

    Philip Ferry, RS global freight manager, says: "TNT shares our philosophy for high-quality service delivery to our customers, and this new contract builds on an already strong relationship."

    Joris Oudenhuijzen, global industry director electronics, TNT Express, adds: "Online sales represent close to one half of RS's revenues. This calls for very flexible and fast transport services."

    TNT unit launches operations in Iraq zone

    TNT Mateen Express Iraq, a leading business to business express delivery company, has launched its parcel delivery inside the International Zone, formerly known as the Green Zone.

    Located in Baghdad city, the International Zone embraces major multinational companies and is also known as the diplomatic and government district.

    TNT Mateen Express can now deliver and pick up consignments from the International Zone during working hours which will assist the company expanding its presence in the Iraqi market, it said in a statement.

    TNT Express recently signed a partnership with Mateen Express as its exclusive associate in Iraq.

    “Accessing the International Zone is one step forward towards our expansion plan in the local market. Our association with TNT Express enabled us to increase our daily flights to six flights per week for Export and 14 cargo flights to different Airports in Iraq,” said Wasfi Barzanji, CEO of TNT Mateen Express.

    “Mateen Express has a proven experience as one of the leading domestic express operators in Iraq. It also has an extensive presence in the UAE and China, as well as considerable expansion plans for Germany, Turkey and Malaysia beside a strong channel of agents in more than 70 countries.”
