    Shell investeert ook zwaar in nieuwe reserves, en het beter benutten van oude reserves.

    Het inkopen van eigen aandelen is van de extra kasstroom die ze niet nodig hebben voor het bedrijf. Sowieso is het eigen vermogen ondanks de aandeleninkoop nog flink gestegen.

    Niks mis met vd Veer. Hij doet waar hij goed in is, de core business, olie en gas, beter laten draaien. Als er wat meer visie moet komen om de activiteiten te verbreden, dan is dat niet zijn sterke punt. Er komt na hem vast wel iemand die daar wél goed in is (hopelijk voor het bedrijf). Als je eerlijk bent dan kost 'visie' meestal handen vol geld en brengt het weinig op.

    Jammer voor de brand in Scotford, dure les. Zonder een calamiteit zo nu en dan verslapt de alertheid.

    Interessant nieuws vandaag van BP (kwamen vandaag met jaarcijfers) en zijn van plan om meer de focus te leggen op dividendverhoging dan op inkoop van eigen aandelen omdat een dividendverhoging voor meer aandeelhouderswaarde zorgt:

    "The move also marks a shift in the balance between dividends and buybacks as a means of returning value to shareholders. BP said the repurchase of its own stock over the past eight years had shrunk its equity base by some 16 per cent, making a higher dividend more affordable"

    Je hebt de laatste zin kennelijk niet goed gelezen. De reductie van aandelen is nou juist waar het bij onze ompany altijd aan heeft ontbroken. Elk aandeleninkoopprogramma (tot nu toe) werd halfhartig en contre coeur uitgevoerd. Dit heeft er toe geleid dat er bij RDS geen ruimte is voor forse dividendverhogingen. Ze hebben al de hoosgte pay-out rate en de hoogste per barrel kosten. Wat nodi is bij de ompany is een fiks aantal jaren waar de procentuele dividendverhoging lager gaat liggen dat het percentage opgekochte aandelen. Op deze manier kan men de onverantwoord hoge pay-out ratio meer in lijn brengen met peers. Juist bij een lage beurskoers (een chronisch RDS kenmerk)is opkopen van eigen aandelen een zeer effectieve manier om met je geld om te gaan. ( Maak dat de badmutsen die de ompany besturen maar eens duidelijk!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Bedenk wat er gebeurt mocht de olieprijs significant dalen. Een ompany met de hoogste per barrel kosten en het hoogste dividend zit dan voor ze het weten in een siutie waar er meer aan dividend moet worden uitgekeerd dan er winst gemaakt wordt. Als dat enkel jaren duurt kan de ompany zo bij het grof vuil worden gezet! Met dank aan genieen als vander Veer n hoe heet ddie lul??? oh ja Vosrer (het fincanciele genie).
