    Preparations for take-off

by TimR on May 4, 2011

So what is happening at Saab right now? The purchasing department is right now very busy with checking inventory and negotiating with suppliers about deliveries to Saab. It will probably take a few more days to get everything sorted out and before deliveries start to roll in to the factory. Remember, the suppliers also need to start up their production first.

I have spoke with one of the technicians and they are right now working with the calibration of all the machines. A lot of sensors (there are hundreds of them) needs to be checked, so that they perform according to standard. Some hydraulic machines also needs to be checked, but so far everything seams fine.

A check like this is pretty normal, its actually performed 2-3 times per year after all major holidays when the production line has been standing still for a few weeks, I myself took part of this back in 2002 when I worked at Saab.

The production line will be tested tomorrow, at what time I still don’t know but I’m going to try to find out!
