"In Asia we will lift vehicle production annual capacity in Thailand from 70,000 to 120,000 units by the middle of next year," he said. "We will begin volume production of vehicles in Taiwan, Malaysia and Indonesia from January to March, as earlier planned. "In Europe we will release the diesel-engine Accord model next year to strengthen sales of the series there," he said. "We have set a sales target of 940,000 units in Japan but I'm urging our sales staff to try for sales of 960,000. Honda will release top-end sedans and increase sales staff to more than 14,000," Yoshino said. The company will raise combined output at two domestic plants to 1,100 units per day, from the current 1,000 units, in early 2003, he said.
