    Ik had gedacht dat na het lezen van de onderste paragraaf het duidelijk was dat de bron Onward Medical is.

    (ABM FN) Onward Medical zal een presentatie geven tijdens het congres HLTH Europe. Dit kondigde het medtechbedrijf dinsdagmorgen aan.

    HLTH Europe is een vooraanstaand evenement voor leiders op het gebied van digitale gezondheidszorg.

    De conferentie vindt plaats van 17 tot en met 20 juni in Amsterdam.

    CEO Dave Marver van Onward en proefpatiënt Gert-Jan Oskam zullen toelichten hoe de experimentele ARC-BCI-therapie kunstmatige intelligentie gebruikt om gedachtengestuurde bewegingen mogelijk te maken na verlamming.

    Van AI wordt veel verwacht wat betreft de toekomst van therapieën om dwarslaesie te behandelen.

    Oskam is de eerste mens bij wie een hersen-computerinterface werd geïmplanteerd om hem weer te kunnen laten lopen.

    In het persbericht van Onward staat net iets meer informatie dan in het ABM nieuwsbericht. Belangrijke toevoeging vanuit het persbericht:

    CEO Dave Marver and trial participant Gert-Jan Oskam will address conference attendees in a keynote on the main stage on June 19, 2024. The pair will discuss how investigational ARC-BCI Therapy uses artificial intelligence to enable thought-driven movement after paralysis, the future of therapies to treat SCI, and Gert-Jan's experience as the first human to be implanted with a brain-computer interface to restore walking.


    Op 27 september 2023 publiceerde Onward het persbericht met volgende passage:

    ONWARD Medical N.V. today announces the successful first-in-human implant of its ARC-IM Stimulator to restore upper extremity function after SCI. The patient also received a wireless brain-computer interface (BCI), designed to initiate thought-driven movement when paired with ARC-IM.

    Deze patiënt zal dus Gert-Jan zijn geweest. Ik vind het raar dat de eerste proefpatiënt op een symposium zijn ervaring kan delen. Wat feitelijk studiedata betreft en daarmee koersgevoelige informatie. Dat moet toch breder en openbaar gedeeld worden. Hij zal maar zeggen, krijg gevoel terug en ben zeer hoopvol. Wellicht zie ik het verkeerd, maar snap even niet hoe Onward dit pad kan/mag bewandelen.

    De uitoefenprijs van de warrants (4,83) is alvast zo'n 7% hoger dan de recente emissieprijs van 4,50. En ze doen aangenaam voorzichtig met
    het uitgeven van nieuwe stukken op de actuele koersniveaus.

    Dan mag de koers de komende dagen weer richting de 5,20, denk ik;
    met een verdere stijging in de aanloop naar de goedkeuring.
    Wat er ná de goedkeuring gaat gebeuren zien we dan wel weer.

    De lening werd afgesloten bij het Amerikaanse Runway Growth Capital.

    EINDHOVEN, the Netherlands, June 28, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ONWARD Medical N.V. (Euronext: ONWD), the medical technology company creating innovative spinal cord stimulation therapies to restore movement, function, and independence in people with spinal cord injury (SCI), announces today that the Company and its subsidiaries, ONWARD Medical Inc. and ONWARD Medical S.A., signed a loan agreement in the amount of up to €52.5 million (the “Loan Agreement”) with U.S.-based lender Runway Growth Capital LLC (the “Lender”). The loan will be used to (i) repay all of the Company’s outstanding debt, (ii) fund the Company’s upcoming commercial and clinical activities, and (iii) for working capital and general corporate purposes.

    The facility is divided into five individual credit tranches. The first initial credit tranche of €16.0 million will be available upon signing of the Loan Agreement and will be drawn down immediately. Three subsequent credit tranches of €14.0 million, up to €5.0 million and up to €7.5 million will be available to be drawn by the Company until March 31, 2025, July 31, 2026 and January 31, 2027 respectively, in each case subject to the Company’s achievement of certain milestones under the Loan Agreement. The fifth credit tranche of up to €10.0 million is uncommitted and available in the first quarter of 2027 upon the sole discretion of the Lender.

    The loan bears interest at a rate equal to Term Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR) for a three month interest period (currently at 6.00% and subject to a 4.25% floor), plus a margin of 6.50%.

    The loan documents provide for a number of affirmative and negative covenants by the Company customary for financings of this type, including financial covenants relating to revenue, earnings before interest taxes deprecition and amortization (EBITDA) and minimum liquidity targets. The loans advanced under the Loan Agreement will be secured by a security interest in substantially all of the assets of the ONWARD Medical, N.V. and its subsidiaries.

    In addition, upon signing of the debt financing the Company will issue to the Lender warrants which will entitle the Lender to purchase ordinary shares in the capital of the Company at an exercise price per newly issued share calculated on the basis of the lowest 30 day volume-weighted average price (VWAP) between April 9, 2024 and the signing of the debt financing. The number of shares subject to the warrants are five percent (5.00%) of the drawn down principal amount initially and upon each subsequent loan advance, divided by the exercise price of €4.83.
