    Neuer Fiat Punto sieht aus wie ein Maserati

    19.02.2012 - 15:57 Düsseldorf (RPO). Mit einem überarbeiteten Motorenangebot rollt der überarbeitete Fiat Punto zu den Händlern. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei der Zweizylinder Punto TwinAir, der aus einem Hubraum von 875 ccm 63 kW/85 PS bei 5000 Umdrehungen holt und den Kleinwagen auf eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 172 km/h beschleunigt.

    Der Punto TwinAir belastet den Etat der Käufer mit mindestens 15.200 Euro, wenn er in einigen Monaten auf den Markt kommt. Er verbindet sein Temperament mit einer deutlichen Geräuschkulisse, die erst abschwillt, wenn der Punto im sechsten Gang auf der Autobahn unterwegs ist.

    Fiat verspricht einen Verbrauch von 4,2 Litern, der allerdings, das zeigten erste Fahrten rund um Mailand, nur schwer zu realisieren sein wird. Preiswerter ist der Fiat Punto 1.2 8V Easy, der noch bis 31. März für 9900 Euro in den Verkaufsräumen steht.

    Dafür erhalten die Kunden unter anderem vier Airbags, Klimaanlage RDS-Radio mit MP3-fähigem CD-Spieler und ein Tom-Tom-Navigationssystem. Angetrieben wird der Easy von einem 51 kW/69 PS leistenden 1,2-Liter-Antrieb. Von außen ist die neue Punto-Generation an einer Frontpartei zu erkennen, die an Maserati erinnert

    Wat marktberichten van GPS business news.

    Heb helaas geen abonnement meer, maar de titel van onderstaande zegt genoeg. De totale markt voor navigatie in electrische auto’s komt in 2017 uit op 1,4 miljard. Een gebied waarop TomTom ook laat zien dat ze vooraan staan (Renault Fluenze ZE)

    Ander bericht dat ik wel kan lezen: de markt voor navigatie als onderdeel van een autoverzekering wordt geschat te groeien naar 89 miljoen (!) abonnees is 2017. Dus ook hier lijkt de timing van tomtom goed.

    EV Telematics Market to Hit US$1.4 B. by 2017: Pike Reserach

    Nearly 9 out of 10 PEVs sold in 2012 will include at least a basic telematics package, and that percentage will likely grow to 94% by 2017, according to Pike Research. The clean-technology market intelligence firm forecast that annual revenue from worldwide sales of electric vehicle (EV) telematics would total US$1.4 billion by 2017.

    For early plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs), one of the key features for customers is not a component of the drivetrain, but rather, the telematics package, Pike Research explained. Giving the driver the ability to check on the battery and the rate of charge, telematics serve as a lifeline of sorts to help alleviate concerns over the limited range of electric vehicles (range anxiety).

    In addition, many manufacturers are developing applications that can provide details on where the closest charging stations are within range of the current battery level of charge.

    A key group of players in the EV telematics supply chain will be wireless equipment manufacturers coming from outside the automotive industry, Pike Research said, who are accustomed to more compressed product development timeframes than the carmakers use.

    “The hardware manufacturers are experiencing a bit of a culture shock,” says senior research analyst Dave Hurst, “as automotive development generally targets an 8 to 10-year lifespan, compared to a 2 to 3-year lifespan for other wireless devices. For this reason, despite the fact that much of the data being transferred in PEV telematics can be done easily with a slow GSM connection, most hardware manufacturers are targeting 3G services with their modems to ensure compatibility with the wireless network long term.”

    In addition, while basic telematics packages that offer simple data connections for emergency services, breakdown calls, charging station locations, and diagnostics/vehicle monitoring will be standard features on most PEVs by 2017, many consumers would want more elaborate, connected vehicle telematics, which can provide live traffic, weather, streaming content, and cloud computing-based applications.

    Pike Research’s analysis indicated that, by the end of the forecast period, 80% of PEVs would come with connected vehicle systems installed.

    Zit een aantal jaloersmakend sterke cv's tussen. Het wijst wat meer in de richting van partnership/content deal dan een app. zitten mensen tussen met als specialisme sluiten van internationale partnerships. We zullen het wel zien, een week later staat tomtom op de cebit. Kan ook nog een moment zijn.

    Wat zou dat nu voor deal zijn? Wat een week. Hoe hoog/laag zullen we na deze week staan? En zal het de outlook nog gaan beinvloeden. Mogelijk nog een mooie deal met Vodafone. Daar hebben ze al wat contacten. Of toch kaarten(+ hd traffic) standaard op de HTC? Ben benieuwd. Succes iedereen.

    Vandaag is het MWC van start gegaan, indien TomTom met een Android App komt wanneer kunnen we deze dan verwachten? Ik zie veel introductie van toestellen en dergelijke op de site van MWC maar geen spreker van TomTom volgens mij.

    Weet iemand wanneer we dergelijk nieuws (als het komt natuurlijk) kunnen verwachten? Ik volg de MWC nu ook weer niet direct dus het zou kunnen dat het gewoon een stomme vraag is en ik er overheen kijk.

    TomTom gaat samenwerken met NDrive

    AMSTERDAM (Dow Jones)--TomTom nv (TOM2.AE) heeft een driejarige samenwerkingsovereenkomst gesloten met NDrive, waarbij het Nederlandse bedrijf digitale kaarten met aanvullende informatie gaat aanleveren voor de locatie-gebaseerde applicaties van NDrive.
    NDrive ontwikkelt applicaties voor de verschillende smartphone-platforms (Android, Apple, HP web, Samsung bada, Symbian, Windows Mobile) en bereikt daarmee miljoenen gebruikers wereldwijd.
    Met de TomTom-kaarten kan NDrive zijn klanten gedetailleerd de weg wijzen en kunnen gebruikers bijvoorbeeld informatie over een bepaalde locatie delen met anderen.
    TomTom maakt maandag verder bekend dat het bedrijf zijn real time-verkeersinformatiediensten nu ook aanbiedt in Tsjechie, Denemarken, Finland, Noorwegen en Zweden. De actuele verkeersinformatie, die volgens TomTom files helpt verminderen, is nu beschikbaar in 23 landen.
