    Lam Research on Wednesday introduced two new tools for building advanced artificial intelligence chips, as the chipmaking tools supplier aims to benefit from a growing AI-driven semiconductor demand.

    It unveiled ALTUS Halo, a deposition tool that adds molybdenum, a metal, to form precise layers on chips. The metal improves chip performance and enables scaling for next-generation semiconductor devices.

    "Lam's ALTUS Halo tool has made it possible for Micron to bring molybdenum into mass production," said chipmaker Micron Technology MU executive Mark Kiehlbauch.

    The company also launched Akara, an etching tool that removes unwanted material from the semiconductor wafer to create tiny chip structures.

    Lam competes with other major suppliers of wafer fabrication equipment, which are sophisticated and expensive tools to make chips, including Applied Materials AMAT, Dutch firm ASML ASML and KLA Corp KLAC.

    The company's customers include firms such as Micron Technology
    MU, Samsung Electronics and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC)

    "As global demand for semiconductors continues to grow, innovative technology solutions from our partners are required to enable new, more powerful device architectures," said Simon Jang, vice president of research and development at TSMC.

    In January, Lam forecast third-quarter revenue above market estimates, signaling growing demand from chip firms.

    Goed gevonden, +AB. Je ziet bij verschillende chip equipment makers (niet alleen LAM maar ook ASML, ASMi, AMAT) een spike naar boven rond 17:10 Nederlandse tijd. Dat zal vast hiermee te maken hebben.

    Laat ik het er op houden dat DeGiro vele male beter is. Kan zo te zien ook alleen Market Orders plaatsen, en ik lees iets over de "Lang en Schwarz Exchange" en die tot 23.00 uur open kennelijk. Nou ja, wel handig als er ze in de US ineens besluiten de prijs eens flink op te drijven..

    Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) unveiled its highly awaited iPhone 16e on Tuesday, aimed at consumers looking for a “more affordable” iPhone experience.

    Apple shares fell fractionally in late morning trading.

    The new iPhone, which is available starting on Feb. 28, offers Apple Intelligence, Apple's A18 chip, better battery life — up to six hours longer than iPhone 11 and up to 12 hours longer than all generations of iPhone SE — and a 48MP 2-in-1 camera system, the company said in a release. It also offers the all-new Apple C1 chip, the first cellular modem designed by Apple.

    The modems of previous iPhones were designed by Qualcomm (QCOM).

    The latest Apple smartphone also sports Face ID and has wireless charging and USB-C connection.

    “iPhone 16e packs in the features our users love about the iPhone 16 lineup, including breakthrough battery life, fast performance powered by the latest-generation A18 chip, an innovative 2-in-1 camera system, and Apple Intelligence,” said Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing. “We’re so excited for iPhone 16e to complete the lineup as a powerful, more affordable option to bring the iPhone experience to even more people.”

    The iPhone 16e starts at $599 and is available in white and black colors in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage.

    CEO Tim Cook teased the launch last week, writing “Get ready to meet the newest member of the family” on X.

    Apple first introduced the iPhone SE in 2016, but a lack of features have led to slow sales of the device. The company most recently refreshed the iPhone SE in 2022.

    The launch of the iPhone 16e comes at a time when Apple is looking to reinvigorate revenue growth from the iconic device, which was first announced in 2007. Revenue attributed to the iPhone fell 1% year-over-year in the most recent quarter to $69.14B, below the $71.04B estimate.

    Is nog geen zekerheid, maar de kans erop is wel groot. Het lijkt erop of ASML's aandeleninkoop een redelijk goede bescherming oplevert tegen een daling. Vooropgesteld dat er de komende twee dagen geen negatief nieuws komt waardoor de markt weer in paniek raakt.

Ik wil niet dat ze mij van 'peildatum arbitrage' kunnen beschuldigen. Dus dan zou ik de opties voor expiratie nog moeten terugkopen. En dat is altijd zo'n zenuwenklusje.
