De enige keer dat Hok Tan (CEO Broadcom) NVIDIA vernoemt in de Conference Call:

'As large enterprises adopt AI, they have to run their AI workloads on their on-prem data centers, which will include both GPU servers as well as traditional CPUs. And just as VCF virtualizes these traditional data centers using CPUs, VCF will also virtualize GPUs on the -- on a common platform and enable enterprises to import AI models to run their own data on-prem. This platform, which virtualized the GPU, is called the VMware Private AI Foundation. And as of today, in collaboration with NVIDIA, we have 39 enterprise customers for the VMware Private AI Foundation.'

Bernstein belässt Nvidia auf 'Outperform' - Ziel 185 Dollar
    Donnerstag, 06.03.25 15:34

'2. Hold some cash for buying opportunities
After last year's gains, many stocks started this year with high valuations. However, recent declines have lowered those, offering some interesting buying opportunities.

For example, artificial intelligence (AI) chip leader Nvidia today trades for only 26x forward earnings estimates, down from more than 48x earlier this year. And many other companies across industries are in the same situation.'

Nvidia Stock Rises. Why Peer Broadcom’s Earnings Are Good News for the AI Chip Maker.
    By
    Adam Clark

    Published: March 7, 2025 at 5:51?a.m. ET

Nvidia was rising early on Friday. Investors looked to be taking heart from the chip maker’s peer Broadcom which injected some life into the artificial-intelligence trade with a strong earnings report.

Nvidia shares were up 1.4% at $112.08 in premarket trading. The stock fell 5.7% the previous day.

Nvidia has tumbled from highs of close to $150 at the start of the year as the market turns toward safe-haven plays amid trade war uncertainty. Investors are judging the risk of tariffs being placed on Taiwan, where Nvidia’s chips are manufactured, as well as further curbs on exports of semiconductors to Chinese customers.

However, Broadcom’s stronger-than-expected earnings could provide some reassurance, after the custom-AI semiconductor company said each of its top three customers are heading for building one-million chip clusters by the end of 2027. The largest current AI data centers house hundreds of thousands of chips.

While Broadcom’s custom chips do provide an alternative to Nvidia’s hardware in some cases, generally the strength of demand for AI infrastructure should be a positive for both companies. Morgan Stanley’s technology team estimates the custom AI chip share of the market stood at 11% in 2024, and will rise to 15% in 2030 with the balance going to AI graphics-processing units, primarily made by Nvidia.

“While trade policy and AI concerns have pressured U.S. equities, strong demand for AI compute and ongoing investment in infrastructure should support long-term growth. AI-driven capex trends reinforce our confidence in AI as a structural growth driver despite near-term volatility,” wrote Mark Haefele, chief investment officer at UBS Global Wealth Management, in a research note.

TSMC Rides AI Wave: Sales Surge 39% In First 2 Months Of 2025 On Higher Demand
    by Rishabh Mishra

What Happened: TSM reported on Monday that its February 2025 revenue rose 43.1% to $7.911 billion or NT$260.01 billion from $5.527 billion or NT$181.648 from the same month in the last year. This was aided by the robust demand of its chips used for artificial intelligence applications worldwide.

However, the company’s sales declined by 11.3% monthly as its January sales stood at $8.923 billion or NT$293.288.

Compared to the first two months of 2024, the sales rose by 39.2% in 2025 as the revenue increased from $12.092 billion or NT$397.433 billion to $16.835 billion or NT$553.297 billion for January and February combined.

Why It Matters: The Taiwanese company is a major supplier of U.S.-based chipmaker Nvidia Corporation NVDA and it recently announced about $165 billion of investment in the U.S. to power the future of AI.

According to its press release, it plans to increase U.S. investment in advanced semiconductor manufacturing with three new fabs, two advanced packaging facilities, and an R&D center.

Over the four years, TSMC’s investment will create 40,000 construction jobs, tens of thousands of high-tech jobs, and drive over $200 billion in U.S. economic impact over 10 years, benefiting key tech clients.

In addition to its newly announced manufacturing site in Phoenix, TSMC operates a fab in Camas, Washington, and design service centers in Austin, Texas, and San Jose, California.

The U.S. listed stock remains 12.14% lower on a year-to-date basis, however, it's up 27.39% over a year.

Benzinga tracks six analysts with an average price target of $203.8 for the stock, reflecting a "hold" rating. Estimates range widely from $89 to $255. Recent ratings from Barclays, and Needham average at $235, suggesting a potential 32.76% upside.

Goldman Sachs: AI Stocks' Long-Term Prospects Remain Bright (NVDA)
    Mar. 10, 2025 at 7:40 a.m. ET
    GuruFocus News

Since 2025, AI trading has faced significant volatility, punctuated by the rise of DeepSeek, which has notably impacted the US stock market. Investors are now questioning whether the AI trading boom is over. Goldman Sachs analysts Ryan Hammond and David J. Kostin indicate in a recent report that although short-term market recovery might require "position clearing" or improvements in economic data, continued advancements in AI technology and earnings growth will eventually attract investors back. Goldman believes AI trading will expand, with "third-phase AI trades"—companies that can achieve revenue growth through AI—being more appealing than "second-phase AI trades."

Goldman classifies AI stocks into four phases: "First phase" includes AI chip stocks led by NVIDIA (NVDA, Financial); "second phase" covers AI infrastructure stocks; "third phase" involves companies leveraging AI for revenue generation; and "fourth phase" comprises companies driven by AI-enhanced productivity. Recently, AI trading has been hit by downward revisions of economic growth expectations and position adjustments, leading to concerns about corporate AI spending capabilities. Many second and third phase AI stocks have been highly favored by investors, resulting in over-positioning.

Since the S&P 500 index peaked on February 19, NVIDIA (NVDA, Financial) has lagged behind the S&P equal weight index by 16 percentage points. AI infrastructure stocks and AI revenue-generating stocks have underperformed by 9 and 7 percentage points, respectively, while AI productivity stocks have fared the best with only a 3 percentage point lag. Despite this, Goldman remains optimistic about AI's long-term potential, expecting technological advancements and earnings growth to renew investor focus on AI stocks.

Goldman notes that third-phase AI stocks are more attractive than second-phase stocks due to slowing AI capital expenditures by large corporations and declining AI costs, shifting investor attention from infrastructure to technology application and revenue streams. Moreover, second-phase AI stocks still have slightly higher relative valuations than their historical averages, while third-phase AI stocks are relatively undervalued. Notably, third-phase AI stocks have experienced positive sales revisions, with a median sales forecast increase of 0.3% for 2026, whereas second-phase and fourth-phase stocks have seen downward revisions of 0.3%.

Goldman Sachs' third-phase AI stock list includes 40 companies, of which 27 are software firms. Companies expected to exhibit the fastest sales growth over the next two years include Palantir (PLTR), Cloudflare (NET), SentinelOne (S), and GitLab (GTLB).
